Utopia, Rational Decision Theory, Categorical Imperative, Utilitarianism

Excerpt by Term Daily news:

Rawls begins to propose a brand new theory, which he really does by creating two guidelines and “to show the two rules of justice provide a better understanding of the claims of freedom and equality within a democratic world than the initial principles linked to the traditional projet of utilitarianism, with perfectionism, or with institutionalism” (Rawls, Political Liberalism 292).

Nozick suggests an entitlement theory of justice that might apparently reflect the categorical imperative but which actually surfaces Kant’s theory of property. John Rawls offered a revision of Kantian theory so it could be used as being a grounding in ethical theory. Nozick also shows a very good commitment to prepolitical individual rights. He also identifies that there are makes, including earlier injustices, which will shape each of our holdings in society in a variety of ways, bringing up the question of what should be done to rectify these injustices:

The general traces of the theory of rights in coopération are the fact that holdings of the person are simply if he can entitled to them by the principles of justice in buy and transfer, or by principle of rectification of injustice (as specified by the first two principles). In the event each individual’s holdings are only, then the total set (distribution) of loge is just (Nozick, “The Entitlement Theory” 255).

In terms of other forms of division, for example , Nozick finds the fact that provision of welfare is usually beyond the rightful forces of government:

Since no one contains a natural directly to force other folks to give to charity, we cannot copy that power to society as a whole. However very well intentioned, copy payments are no different from regular theft (Olen and Barry 311).

Nozick’s theory of justice was presented in his book Anarchy, State, and Utopia (chapter 7) which is called the entitlement theory. There, Nozick writes

The whole principle of distributive rights would claim simply that the distribution is merely if everyone is entitled to the holdings they possess beneath the distribution (Nozick, Anarchy, Condition, and Thinking about 151).

Nozick says the theory of Rawls is an end-result theory, while his own theory involves identifying when the division of goods and rights is merely.
