In the novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, the character Scout performs an important role; Harper Lee portrays her as straightforward, abrupt, impulsive, and even simply rude. An example of this is usually when Look says, “He ain’t business, Cal, he’s just a Cunningham, ” (Lee 24) with reference to when Walt Cunningham was over at the Finch residence, and Search disapproved in the way this individual ate his food, that is certainly, with a generous amount of syrup. This shows that she is unafraid of talking her brain. Also, that shows that she’s very opinionated about classes of people, as the Cunningham boy was of a reduce class than Scout’s own family.

This, in addition , proves that Scout could be unruly once she really wants to be. Another great quote coming from Lee’s tale, to go along with normally the one above, would be when Look decides to consider a piece of chewing gum from a knothole within a tree in route home at school. “I was standing on tiptoe…hastily looked around once more, come to into the hole, and withdrew two items of chewing gum minus their outer wrappers. My personal first behavioral instinct was to stick it into my own mouth. “(Lee 32) This excerpt through the story shows Scout’s energetic side, displaying that the lady does not usually think ahead of acting.

Addititionally there is another area to Look that we do not see as much, the delicate side, where she cares about Jem, and wants him not to visit the Radley’s to give Arthur Radley a note. Another example can be when the lady goes with Jem to read to Mrs. Dubose, a horrible woman, every day.

To summarize, Scout may seem rowdy, disobedient, and uncouth, and your woman may be, although on the inside there is certainly more to that particular, she also is actually a caring girl.
