John Steinbeck’s The Pearl is a tale of a poor American indian family whom stumbles upon the greatest gem in the world.
Headed by a person named Kino and his assisting wife Juana, they both are determined to have a prosperous life regardless of the cost. Although the story is usually fictional, it is based on the unpleasant truths of lifestyle as we know this. Steinbeck uncovers an array of paradox like no other: Starting with Kino finding the pearl on the planet, the pearl buyers to not buy the magnificent pearl, and ending with the evil the fact that pearl brought upon the characters. Kino and Juana woke on the gloomy early morning after a tragic accident wherever their baby, Coyotito, was slashed with a deadly scorpion and kept to perish.
