Michael Dark brown was an 18 year old black man who was taken and killed by officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri 08/9/2014. Michael acquired intensions to go to college without having previous criminal record. The fatality of Dark brown sparked succeeding events in Ferguson and became a countrywide controversy referring to much larger nationwide issues of race, rights, and police violence. This grew even more national attention when law enforcement reacted to protesters, also those behaving peacefully, with military-grade gear such as armored vehicles, split gas, rubberized bullets, and sound cannons.

Ties among local citizens and their federal government arose again when heard the investigation into the taking pictures, inherently secretive grand jury proceedings and subsequent reactions which handled by mostly whit political figures despite Ferguson’s majority black population. One of the main reasons this capturing grew countrywide attention was the fear commonly held by many people parents is the fact black lives matter significantly less, particularly in the face of increasingly seriously armed police who take tremendous legal freedom.

Allegedly, Wilson stated that Dark brown was asking at him and this individual fired 6th gunshots in the unarmed man. Brown perished 150 ft. from the car, despite before statements that Brown died just thirty-five ft. through the vehicle. A pair of the 6 shots had been fired at the head of the south florida man. Eyewitnesses who gone public explained Brown and Wilson had a confrontation with the officer’s VEHICLE. Brown went and Pat chased after Brown and shot the teenager to death as he attempted to surrender. Constitutionally, police officers are allowed to capture to protect their very own life or perhaps the life of another faithful party, and/or to prevent a suspect via escaping but only if the officer features probable cause to think the suspect’s fully commited a serious violent felony. Representatives must illustrate that their particular actions had been objectively reasonable given the circumstances and when compared to what other cops might carry out (According to David Klinger, University of Missouri-St. Paillette Professor).

Pat needed to demonstrate that he feared pertaining to his existence not just the moment Brown was by the car, but also after using the shooting, he needed to create that Brownish continued to pose a threat to him until the last dismissed shot. Brown’s family advised a Michael Brown legislation following Grand Jury’s Decision not to indict Officer Wilson. NAACP, Countrywide Action Network, and others have already been working with the family to make a law exactly where it requires that many police officer in every single American town is required to include video physique cameras that record just about every move they make.

The benefits of officials wearing body-worn video technology include facts that both officers and civilians acted in a more confident manner if they were aware that a camera was present, new chances for powerful training of law enforcement officials presented by using cameras, and useful evidence of interactions was often captured on video (as reported on the white house petitions gov page). This would be a Consequentialism remedy where the implications of one’s conduct are the supreme basis for virtually any judgment regarding the rightness or wrongness of that carry out. Hopefully, this Law will clear up the key hurdles the black community continue to confront in the United States 21st Century.
