Both the stories I selected to write about and found interesting were Country Lovers by simply Nadine Gordimer and What It’s love to be a Dark-colored Girl simply by Patricia Jones.

The evaluation and distinction seems satrical because these are testimonies of two different ethnical backgrounds that share a few of the same challenges. All the way through this paper I actually plan to demonstrate and inform how some of the events and stories through this paper will be compared and contrast each other respectfully. In these stories racism and misjudgment reared its ugly brain. The average lifestyle of a youthful black teen and that of any white skinned boy from Africa lives seemed to have got intertwined with one another.

What it’s like to become a black woman told the storyline of an African woman under-going terrible struggles within the contemporary society of the instances. There was constantly prejudice as well as the struggles were plenty. This kind of nine yr old girl who was not comfortable with being black went so far as to try and put food coloring to her eyes to make all of them blue. This story confirmed how the girl’s attitude and also her strengthen seemed to include changed above the different levels throughout her life.

At first she discussed of being 9 years old and sad. Close to the end with the story your woman was to some degree bitter expressing “to fuck with elegance and screwing without it”. That was the life of the girl growing up in 1955. (Patricia Smith, 1955). With regards to the belief of many, the relationship between black and white seems to be somewhat taboo in a sense. The truth that this was forbidden then and frowned upon really hard disks home that point.

These are two stories of innocence as well as the understanding that that which we think because children constantly turn out to be incorrect in the eyes of elderly adults. Being raised in the south, I understand from initial -hand experience that the struggles of African Americans and folks from other countries as well. In our region this has been well documented.

This can be truly a history of a small black young lady transitioning into a woman aiming to come to grips with the reality her body is changing and having to acknowledge that.
