My personal character, Miss Torso is definitely outgoing and full of life. This wounderful woman has a passion for grooving and it finds a system into every factor of her lifestyle.

She dances whilst making breakfast and entertains guy guests as it is highly enjoyable. The passion I embody cannot be faked and is obviously seen in the opening moments. Hitchcock, my personal director manipulates my character and her personality being overtly sexualised and strictly for the viewing of male alternatives. I resent the portrayal of my character having to rely on the affection of men to be joyful.

Yes, I enjoy the company and the entertainment they supply but I do not need it to survive or find delight. Not only are definitely the women in the film offered as extremely attractive and submissive to men, they are given the stereotype of ladies being needy and reliant on males. However if you look closely at the film you will see that whether it weren’t intended for the women, the mystery of the murder would never have been uncovered. Crucial feminine characters identified many signs, pieced jointly the events within the crime and risked their very own lives with absolutely no acknowledgement. Lisa, whom could have had a strong relationship with Miss Torso presented the opportunity would have helped even more the research.

With the knowning that the genre relies heavily on these stereotypes to determine crime hype they should be re-evaluated as the changing times have changed. Women have fought relentlessly to attain legal rights and equal rights which should be represented within this film. I feel my character was merely a unit for Hitchcock to exemplify his designs of voyeurism and women staying the subject of the male gaze.

Since even her name is characterised after her body it shows the stereotype that women are simply at appease the male counterparts. My component within the film is that of being a doppelganger to Lisa. I highlight the traits associated with an attractive girl in this time period.

These being that without a man you are lost and that your happiness depends solely on the comfortableness reliance a man delivers. With this kind of I find utterly ridiculous as equally Lisa and i also live by ourselves and manage existence to our fulfillment. The passion I acquire from guys by enjoyable are all for my satisfaction. In the film however this is certainly not how it is portrayed; rather than for my personal amusement and independence it really is depicted as my reliability on men. I resent this portrayal as it is far from what I truly feel.

This almost all returns returning to the homicide of Mrs Thorwald. The assumption is made that the lady was a whinging wife that was bedridden and could not really perform the daily responsibilities that are anticipated thus ultimately causing her killing. The whole notion of marriage is usually burdened with negative connotations throughout the film. Even the newlywed couple who have are blissfully on their honeymoon vacation depict this kind of when at the conclusion of the film the husband is seen looking out the window with distain to his better half.

It is nearly seen as satisfactory that the better half is killed as not even the professional detective will require the case seriously. My persona portrays women reliant of men with her standard of living being totally due to guy involvement. This is certainly a huge misinterpretation of the strong, independent and charismatic woman that the girl actually is.

These traits should be highlighted instead of subverted as a means of accentuating the concept of the females being subject to you gaze.
