Let’s consider locating a new residence as the personal project since we all can’t preserve to live in each of our current house. We will take the traditional approach of project management in this personal task.
A traditional approach involves several steps or stages that should be accomplished. For this approach, there are five different phases during the creation or before the project is completed. The first phase in the traditional technique is the task initiation level. During this level, we have to map all our current scenarios or our current situation to our future circumstance.
In this phase, we have to collect all the information regarding our current situation (i. e. hire, size of place, location, etc). We should become able to assess the range of our task. We must know very well what our constraints are (i. e. finances, location, etc) and other relevant information. In that case we have to collect information for our long term home.
We have to use the same set of questions (present and future situation) to set the same point of comparison when we compare, or perhaps in job methodology conditions, when we match and map our current scenario to the future scenario. After coordinating and mapping, it is now time for us to plan for the future property. Subsequently of the classic technique is the project planning or the design and style stage.
At this point, in case the future residence requires a few maintenance (i. at the. adding one other bedroom, putting in a new telephone line, painting the fence light, buying more curtains for the several glass windows, etc) mainly because it was selected because it has got the most quantity of pros compared to the rest and is marginally a lot better than the current, then simply this period will make the future residence better suit our needs. After repairing, the near future residence can now be tested if it is already safe to live by. It is now coming back our next stage. The task execution or perhaps production level is wherever we initially move in to our place to test out how we experience our fresh house.
We have to be able to deliver everything that was set because our range or each of our task-to-accomplish could the initiation stage. Today, to make this kind of efficient and measurable or perhaps quantifiable, we need to list down a set of questionnaire or possibly a set of steps to do and test the new residence against it. This period is called the project monitoring.
In this stage, processes are performed to anticipate and address the potential problems that may happen upon task completion ahead of it happens. For making our personal project quantifiable, we must subject matter it into a series of queries where it could pass or perhaps fail. Questions should be targeted about the alterations that we manufactured during the design stage (i. e. if the future circumstance served it is purpose, etc).
For this level, if there are several questions that our future residence was not able to resolve, these kinds of will be remedied as issues which should be resolved before we will be able to begin our completion stage. Intended for our task to be quantifiable, profitable, or perhaps justifiable, the near future scenarios should be subjected to questions that are based, but not limited, to the improvements that the current scenarios were subjected to. As well as the future situations should be able to solution most, if perhaps not all, in the remiss of the current circumstance.
In short, each of our future circumstance should be able to pass all monitoring stage queries in order for the project to be successful. After all concerns are shut, or every problems are solved, we can today move on to the project achievement stage. To get the job completion stage, our job passed the monitoring level and all concerns are already settled.
Our future residence is usually finally ready to be transferred in and called a house. Reference: LEWIS, James. 2002. Fundamentals of Project Administration. New York: AMACOM
