StrengthsI believe that teamwork is certainly one of my advantages because according to Kinlaw (1993) “being part of a team is usually one who connects others toward a distributed destiny through sharing data and concepts, empowering others and growing trust. ” My capability to interact, speak and cooperate with a group will enable me to be an effective person in a team and work at a common target. I believe that teamwork is very important when teaching because it enables all learners and instructors to function and interact personally together with the purpose of reaching a prevalent objective.
DePree (1999, l. 11) identifies this because “the key elements in the fine art of coming together are how to cope with change, how to approach conflict, as well as how to reach each of our potential…the requires of the crew are best fulfilled when we meet the needs of individuals folks. “It’s said that having a very clear and expressive voice is a key element which a teacher really needs. I believe this is one of my strong points because in respect to Darnley (2005)”Warm and expressive noises, used in an imaginative approach, draw learners in and make them want to be aware and hear. If these kinds of a voice has top quality and liveliness, they will be enthusiastic to attend, take part and learn”, which is something I feel I have.
Technology is starting to become a major part of today’s society and therefore educators have to figure out it in order to teach it. Rodenburg (2006) refers to technology (in particular computers) like a foreign language, declaring “if 1 does not learn a “foreign” vocabulary while young, than it can usually not turn into fluent….. Technology is not only a language to understand; it is somebody with whom we must figure out how to get along, to get to know, and also welcome into each of our lives”. As a computer literary works and knowledgeable person I’m aware of changing technology therefore I will be able to pass on my knowledge of technology to the children of today.
WeaknessesTime Administration, according into a survey done in the United States by professor Professionals (2001), is a major weak spot in most teachers. Of the survey conducted 78% believed that they had poor time supervision skills. I really believe that time is one of my own weaknesses because I get caught up in quickly past learning, but as a teacher Need to realise that my college students are going to be for very different degrees of learning and this not all of them will work inside the same ways.
I believe that one of my personal weaknesses lay in my low tolerance to get stubbornness and lack of self-esteem. Hancock (2007) claimed “once an educator understands their pros and cons, the best lesson planed is one that is composed ‘freely’ so when you happen to be confident to make creative choices”. With this in mind I need to recognize my own tendencies to overlook unmotivated and uninspired children, and adjust my personal lesson appropriately.
According to the teacher’s federation of NSW (2004) “some learners do better to have a rigid strategy and to become presented clearly with what comes up of them to reach your goals. ” This really is something that Let me have to remember as a teacher. Something that can become a problem for me when beginning as a tutor is not enough experience. This really is expected as a beginning instructor but it could lead to me struggling finding jobs. As cited by Hancock (2007) “school will always meet the experienced educator over a fresh unexperienced one”.
The teacher’s federation of NSW executed a survey which says only 22% of express high schools have more than 5 teachers under the age of 24 educating. This qualified prospects me to think that college will take the experienced over the fresh and unexperienced teachers, which will be one o f my own weaknesses once first starting my own profession teaching career.
